Designed for you - without compromise
You may not be familiar with our name but you will certainly have seen some of the trays, blisters, clams and punnets that Thermoform make and will probably have taken some home from your local supermarket.
For over 40 years we have designed, developed and manufactured bespoke vacuum formed plastic packaging for some of the country's best known and most demanding companies. Our customers operate across a wide spectrum of industries including - confectionery and bakery, meat and savouries, toiletry and pharmaceutical, electronic and light engineering, homeware and DIY.
All design, development and tool making at Thermoform is in-house at our specialist facility in Ashbourne, Derbyshire.
Drawing on our experience of traditional pattern making skills and engineering knowledge, we use the latest CAD CAM technology to provide creative, functional and affordable vacuum formed plastic packaging solutions.
Production of the final product is carried out at our adjacent manufacturing site where a bank of fully automatic machines form, cut and stack in-line a wide range of plastics including RPET which has now become the default choice for most customers because of the high recycled content.
We began trading in 1973 and remain a family owned and run business. The operational chain is short which means reaction to customer needs is fast and decisions are made quickly on site. Our promise has always been the same - to provide the highest quality products, at the right price, on time - and to do it in a professional, honest and friendly way.

Creating packaging for over 40 years
Thermoform is a family owned business started by Dennis and Doreen Perks in 1973 as a light engineering firm. Although not initially a specialist in plastic forming, Dennis recognised with his background in pattern making and foundry work that he could make a natural progression to design and construct vacuum forming tools and then produce vacuum formed packaging himself.
In 1983 the company invested in its first fully automatic vacuum forming machine, this was the very first TFT machine imported into the UK.
As the company has developed over the last 40 years, we have outgrown premises and relocated to several sites within the town of Ashbourne, finally settling on the Airfield industrial Estate which has been our home since 1996. Since moving to this site we have made further investment in more space, allowing for a dedicated manufacturing site with an adjacent building housing design and administration.
Family, and family values, remain at the heart of the business, with Dennis's son Matthew as Managing Director and his daughter, Natalie, as Finance Director. The company's aim is to continuously strive to remain at the forefront of the latest trends in design and technology, and to ensure the highest standards are maintained in quality and efficiency for manufacturing. Thermoform's service is made-to-measure to fulfill the customer's needs and this is as true today as when the company began.
